Clifford Curzon: Prince Among Ensemblists, Serf Among Soloists

Clifford Curzon was much revered as a chamber-music performer, and rightly so, but his solo discography is relatively small. The vast majority of his solo recordings were made for the Decca label and run a wide gamut in quality, regrettably tending toward vapidity.
